Lizzie Ball
Has performed all over the world giving sell out concerts as a solo and ensemble artist, with Simply Red, Kanye West, Enya, Nigel Kennedy, Ben Folds, Buena Vista Social Club, Meatloaf, and many jazz legends such as Guy Barker, Sir John Dankworth, and has recorded music for films for Michael Nyman, John Williams, and is also featured on the current Russell Crowe film soundtrack “State of Play” (2009 release). She has broadcast live on the major BBC Radio and TV channels, and has had her music broadcast in over 15 countries worldwide on radio and tv.
James Pearson
James is regarded as one of the world’s most talented pianists. His diverse career has seen extraordinary musical achievements. He has given numerous performances of Rhapsody in Blue, for which he is considered to be an expert, in major venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and Liverpool Philarmonic Hall. He He has played with the great heroes of jazz including Dame Cleo Laine, Maria Ewing, Marian Montgomery, Petula Clark, John Wilson, Elvin Jones, Wynton Marsalis, Dave Stewart, Buddy Grecco, Johnny Griffin, Joseph Horowitz, and Richard Rodney Bennett, to name but a few, and the great Sir John Dankworth has said of him “James Pearson shows moments of genius, his improvising is only comparable to the great jazz legends like Oscar Peterson and George Shearing”.
As Artistic Director and house pianist of Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, besides playing there regularly with the worlds leading jazz artists, and being in charge of booking the entire calendar of gigs, James is also asked frequently by celebrities such as Kevin Spacey to arrange and perform with them in all manner of events and concerts. His recording work includes film soundtracks for ‘Calender Girls’, ‘Gangster no. 1’, ‘Beyond the Sea’ and the remake of ‘Alfie’, where Joss Stone performed his arrangement of the title song. As a composer, James has had a west end show ‘The Slow Drag’ (Whitehall Theatre) in which he wrote the original music, co-wrote and arranged the music for “Sanctuary”, a classical vocal album which went to number one in many of the Classical Charts. Future plans include composing the entire score for the BFI’s London Celebration of the film The Big Smoke, which shows London throughout the ages, and six more performances of Rhapsody in Blue this year.
Lawrence Cottle
Lawrence is one of the world’s greatest bass players. He has performed with Sting, Cher, Seal, Black Sabbath, and has recorded exclusively for the solo albums of Eric Clapton, the Bee Gees, Britney Spears, and Procul Harem. He has also recorded film soundtracks for ‘Lethal Weapon’ amongst many more. He is the most in demand bass player in London and is constantly recording all the top film sessions at Abbey Road Studios!
Chris Dagley
Chris Dagley was a child prodigy, and has gone on to be one of the world’s most successful drummers. He was the original drummer for Take That, and has toured the world them, and also with Van Morrison, Lionel Richie, Jamiroquai, Marti Pellow (Wet Wet Wet), Rick Astley, and many more. He is the regular house drummer at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club and plays with the UK’s leading jazz artists including Clare Teal and James Pearson.
