Lizzie/Classical Kicks is delighted to be supported by the PRS Spotify Sustaining Creativity Fund-another vital lifeline for Lizzie to continue her work as an independent artist and also to plan the future for Classical Kicks, whilst live performances are not possible in the current coronavirus pandemic.
During lockdown, like so many artists, Lizzie has lost a great proportion of her income for the foreseeable short-medium term future. Whilst she pivots to change and develop the way she works at home, Lizzie is so pleased and proud to be the recipient of grant funding from the Arts Council England Emergency Relief fund. This vital support enables her to continue her work as an independent artist during this temporary wipeout of all possible live performance revenue and she is extremely thankful.
Hope everyone is continuing to stay well and healthy. Like most of the professional music community, I have had most of my live performing schedule cancelled for the year and at present almost no live events are taking place throughout most of the world. In this very challenging time, I’ve pivoted and have been using the time at home to revisit my home studio and improve my skills in this area as well as enjoying new collaborations with other artists at home. These include film composer Edward Farmer-we are slowly building upon a body of collaborative work which we are excited about. I gave a sneak peak of this in a recent appearance on Scala Radio, for their popular Live Sessions, featuring one of his compositions for me ‘Rhapsody Inside’, written and performed in response to the challenging feelings of being in lockdown. In addition I featured a brilliant new arrangement of Paul Simon’s iconic song ‘The Boxer’ by James Turner, and a beautiful rendition of Time Remembered by Bill Evans featuring James Pearson on piano. If you want to hear my live broadcast you can listen here , I appear at 1h 44 mins! Listen to Lizzie Live on Scala Radio
